Images from Vaktapur

On this particular Friday, I had little work to go to Vaktapur. That is why I bunked the F. Office for the day. Now, how could I go to there w/out carrying my Gun. Its truly impossible.

Due to the strike called by the Local Bus Syndicates, there was no sign of public vehicles running on the road. That is why I reached Vaktapur lighting fast within 15 minutes for the first time in my life. After finishing up my work, I tried to capture few Fotos. As it had been a long gap that I walked around in Vaktapur, the walk of fotografic junction was memorable. Without further due, I am presenting following fotos for your swift view:

Krishna Janmastami 2069

On Krishna Janmashtami numerous devotees flock to the ancient Krishna temple in old Patan Durbar Square to keep vigil through the glorious night of his birth. As they sit huddled together their bodies rocking in humble obeisance, the women chant the many names of the Lord,'Narayan, Narayan' and Gopal, Gopal'. Some sing ancient hymns, others clap their hands, while some pray. Crowds of men and women edge their way slowly up narrow steps through the seated devotees to the temple's dark interior to where the main idol stands. There they offer flowers, coins and food and wait for a glimpse of Krishna Janmastami festival at Krishna Mandir the idol. After the temple priest gives them 'prasad' they make their way down to join the multitude of devotees in the streets.

Travel to Sunakhoti-Pyang Gaon-Lele-Tika Bhairab-Chhampi-Chundevi & Bungmati

FotoGrafy, my zeal & passion.

As stated above, I will carry out to do it till my end but still do not know exactly how long do I carry it. As planned few days before & fixed a day before I along with my friend Mr. Ruman Shresth went for a travel to Sunakhoti-Pyang Gaon-Lele-Tika Bhairab-Chhampi-Chundevi & Bungmati this morning. Our recent travel to Khokana, Bungmati was very fruitful. By the impact of our last travel, we were very much sure that this one also gonna be another successful & fantastic one despite the unfavorable weather. The sky was badly dull.

As we reached to Sunakhothi, we found it some traditional & typical Newari place. But, we hardly clicked pictures there. Then we went to Pyang Gaon, a very tiny place where we tried to collect few fotos.

In Lele, we tried to make out some landscapes. There were several eye catching scenes but the dull sky was doing worst. Then we reached at the Tika Bhairab temple. The temple was very small with a huge rock supported to is. Being in the river bank, we also tried to capture some snaps there. Then our unhappy moment started. The way from Tika Bhairav to Chhampi/ Chundevi was totally muddy & the dozer had just made the tracks for the vehicles where a Thick & slippery mud was doing all bad. Somehow, after about half an hour we reached at Chhampi & all the worst roads came to an end. There was an another temple of the Goddess called Chhampi Devi.

After paying homage to the Goddess, we moved ahead via smooth road. We had kept our eyes fully opened to take snaps if some beautiful view was seen during the biking. When we arrived near to the Bungmati, I was just shocked & took a long breath. The muddy & slippery road from Tika Bhairab Temple to Chhampi/ Chundevi was still in the mind. Soon after heading towards to the Pulchwok, we took some Lunch & headed towards ours’ premises….

Not so bad, but this biking trekking will one of the life-time memorable travels in my entire life. Thank you Ruman for all your courage & support during the trek :0
